Back in January, at the start of Meg & Dia’s tour with Secondhand Serenade, Dia decided to hold her own personal contest to help out her favorite cause, charity:water. She asked her fans to order water bottles from the organization’s website, http://www.charitywater.org, and bring the water bottle labels to a show. She then promised to send the person with the most labels a personal prized possession of hers. Well, it turns out that her personal contest raised over $1,000 dollars!
With that said, Meg and Dia’s label, Warner Bros Records had agreed to donate another $1,000 if the band received 2000 texts from their fans. This campaign started exactly a week ago and was accomplished today! I can’t imagine that goal having been difficult as the band promised cool incentives such as new photos, fun facts about the members, and a new song from their upcoming album “Here, Here and Here” which is to be released on April, 21st 2009. What an overall win-win situation – fans are happy with the new song and charity:water will be donated $2,000 from the Meg and Dia team!
